Swap Cards

Ok, it's been almost a week since I did anything - sorry, been building a wedding invitation on my Cricut - can you believe it?!?!? I'll post it when I get one done.

Here is another favorite card from the swap! It uses our Unforgettable paper kit - (I have a cute bird card coming to this blog soon done in this paper!!) The stamp set is Kanji Phrases - I debated about this set, but after seeing cards like these - I love it! Chocolate ink was used and that is blush cardstock - not ribbon! Great layout. Thanks Sarah for making this card!

Swap Cards

Here's another great 6x6 card from the swap. It's using Dainty Thoughts stamp set. It has our new paper kit Unforgettable which I love and just ordered more of! Sparkles that look like diamonds (and we know that those are my best friends!) The creator of this cards was Tahne T.6x6

Swap Cards

This stamp set is Ms. Sweetheart - I love our new Ms. sets (there is 3 of them!) This card was done by Dawn R. from our group. I think the photo is fuzzy. I love these papers too - I'm like "do we have that?" Yes, it's Creative Basics Emporium! You can't tell, but she used Liquid Glass for the bubbles above the glasses and Prisima Glitter to make them sparkle! The Creative Basics kit comes with ribbon and 12 sheets of each of the B&T paper - great for big projects like this one was!

Swap Cards

Here is some of the cards from the swap I joined - they came in last night!

This uses You Did It! stamp set C1351. This card was made by Corinna M. from our group. The top pulls out and has slots for adding a gift card or money - what a great gift! She stamped the images on different paper colors and cut them out and added them to the blocks. The star paper is from Game On paper kit. It was the first one I pulled out of the bag and just loved it - gotta get directions for the card! Thanks for looking - let me know what you think.

I'm bad. I broke down and bought Nestibilities. I told myself I have the Cricut and the Cuttlebug, I don't need those dies, but I got one set and I'm hooked! I found a company on Amazon is selling them for around $13 a set ($25.95 at the local Hobby store) and if you spend enough (you don't need to hear the details) shipping is free! I wasn't sure about the Heart set with scalloped edges til I brought it home and played with it. I cut out 3 hearts from Colonial White cardstock. Using my finger, I took baby pink chalk and rubbed it on the edges of the paper so that the embossing shows up. When you layer them on top of each other it's looks 3D (don't know if the photos do it justice.) Now to come up with a Valentine card for it. The paper it's sitting on for the photo is from That's Amore paper kit that just came out this month.

Brayer Work

So, I found this site where this lady does some fabulous things with a brayer and I'm decided to stay up to 1:30am the last 2 nights and see if I can do it and here is the results. Monday night my results were not so good. The brayer left lines and colors were very dull.

Tuesday night I improved! I got the colors to blend and got rid of the lines, but I think my color selections were a little off. I think if I can get the right color combos this should get better looking. The thing you have to remember is the inks break down a little and change when brayering. Let me know what you think! This has 5 different colors brayered, white and clear embossing, black marker and white marker outlines and stamping.

Snail Mail

Ok, so here is my snail mail card!

I used Topiary & Sweet Leaf inks. The stamp set is FUN TIMES B1309. It has snails, frogs and turtles and the cute little leaf that I used to create the border. I stamped Sweet Leaf leaves (hee hee) on the edge of the card and then a second row above it in Topiary ink. I cut out the tips of the Sweet leaf row so that the Chocolate cardstock I put inside the card showed thru. (Now in no way did I come up with card idea by myself).

I took the snail and stamped it in both Topiary & Sweet Leaf inks and then cut out the body of the Topiary snail and gluded it over the other. I used Chocolate cardstock & Topiary cardstock for the squares. The yellow stripe paper is from Let's Get Together Paper Kit. Love the stripes and the colors.

The words Snail Mail is done with the CLASSROOM Alphabet set (D1303) - remind you of 1st Grade? You have to check out this stamp set - so cute, can't wait for my daughter to start writing her letters and numbers! It has the lines for writing words - you'll understand when you see it!

Card Swap

My swap cards were kind of fun to do and a learning experience. I got to play with my markers – honestly, I have every marker and 2 sets of ink pads in every color that Close To My Heart has, but I barely use the markers until a fellow consultant showed me what you can do with them! I stamped the shopper in chocolate ink and colored her in. I then took a white gel pen to give some highlights (like where the sun would hit things). I added a tiny sparkle by the ear for an earring too! The card’s finish size is 4 x 5.5 so that it would fit into a regular envelope. Before folding the original size was 12 x 4 – so that I got 3 out of a sheet of 12x12. I did this because I didn’t want to just use white cardstock for a base, I wanted something more colorful. I scored it at the 2.5 inches and at 8 inches. If you think ahead you can score the sheets prior to cutting them so that you score 3 at a time. I used a UHU glue stick to do the pocket, I feel that is stronger and lasts longer. I used clothes pins to hold the edges down and make a tight seal.

I made a pocket in the inside so a gift card can fit inside. The stamp set is new and its call Ms. On The Go a new stamps set that is coming out in January – like tomorrow in the new Spring Catty. The striped paper is from our new papers that come out tomorrow too called Me Amore’. I had to make 44 of them because we have a whopping 44 new stamp sets coming out and 44 of us consultants each took a stamp set and made a card, which will give me a sample of each of the stamp sets to show off to you! I’ll be getting them in mid January and I’ll post them so you can get a peek. When I went to package them the little box didn’t work, I had to use a bigger box. For some reason the zip lock baggies I was requested to put them in filled up with air and didn’t let the top of the box close. I was suppose to then put the whole lot into a large zip lock bag, but that wasn’t happening – bag didn’t fit all of them so I sent an empty large bag along so that I was still following the directions for the swap.

Supplies used: Sparkles, Hollyhock arrow with matching brad, glue stick, Tombow glue, Ms. On The Go stamp set, san serif mini alphabet stamp set, Happy Birthday stamp set
Markers: Bamboo, Vanilla Cream, Desert Sand, Baby Pink, Heavenly Blue, Key Lime, Amethyst, Sunny Yellow, Honey, and white gel pen, Ink: Chocolate ink pad
Paper: Blush cardstock, Chocolate Cardstock, Daisy Cardstock

Christmas Cards

Ok, as promised, as I am laid up for a day, I decided to do some updating of my blog and get caught up. By the way, back surgery went very well, unless the pain pills haven’t worn off yet and I don’t know it! Hee Hee.

First, my Christmas cards that I sent out. I used our new Perfect Day B&T paper for the swirls and the matching Juniper card stock. I used Chocolate card stock and ink for stamping the inside. The Christmas tree is done with Juniper ink. Sparkles add bling to the tree (not sure if you can see that) and I used a foam square to add height to the star. I sponged the edges of the present and the sides of the card. I’m thinking of starting my next year’s Christmas cards now so that I don’t have to cram it in during the holiday!

Supplies used: Sparkles, Chocolate ribbon, sponge, CTMH Precut Cards and envelopes, Evergreen Stamp set
Paper: Chocolate cardstock, Daisy White Cardstock, Juniper Cardstock, Sunny Yellow Cardstock
Ink: Juniper & chocolate

Just a Note

Ok, I've been waiting to get on here and post more stuff but I've been hitting at the wrong time. I have lots of pictures of projects I want to download - have camera and computer - forgot cord to hook the two together - SOON I'll get you some photos. I just finished my Christmas cards - 45 of them! (before Christmas that is and yes, they went out before the 24th!)

Also, I signed up for a 44 card swap where each consultant took a new stamp set and made a card and since there is 44 new stamp sets in the Spring Catty - I'll have one of each! I finished that up last night at 12:30pm! All boxed and going to the post office today! If only you could see the pictures!

Today I go in for a minor surgery so I'll be laid up for a day or two - and I promise to catch up on my blog - hope your holdiays were great!
