My Christmas Cards

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Here is the cards that I sent out to a lot of my friends and family for Christmas this year.  Since it's after the holiday it's safe to post. I saw this card last year and made a bunch.  I thought I did it for a swap and I think I was sick and wasn't able to swap that month.  I had 6 of them and so I made a bunch more.
With my Cricut I cut out the cards and all the circles.  It's just 2 circles welded together for the base - about a 5.5 inch circle when closed.  The stamp set is called All Decked Out - it's a favorite of mine and I'm glad it's still around from last year! There is tons of pieces to make a bunch of different snowmen!
The middle circle has to be a lot smaller than the base so you can stamp the arms on and to be able to see them.  I put black Brads for eyes.  I used foam squares between all the layers for depth. A small know in the black plaid ribbon and added with a glue dot to finish him off.
 Inside message:
Family's message was a little different.  Hope you love this!

MTC Test

Julie from Crafty Musician asked our group to do a test on our Cricut Machine.
Here is the results I got with the new version of MTC.
These first 3 photos are done by using the regular blade housing, all settings cranked, multi cut set to 2, cutting chip board - same thing you'd find on a pad of paper.  I had to snap the square apart to get the star out.  (I teach a class that I show how to cut chip board with the regular housing all the time.)
The circle didn't hit in the same spot on the second time around in the center circle only.
Sorry, mat is really dirty and old.  Here is the same circle.
The above photo and the next photos: I did it with the deep blade housing, one time around with all settings cranked. If you click the picture you will see both circles didn't line up at the start and at the end. The star and square finished and started in the wrong spots too.
So I decided to do the test again, but put the speed on fast instead of medium . . . .
 Same results
close ups of the cuts - click on them to blow them up.
Hope this helps.

Rock'n The Block - Blog Hop

Hey! We are blog hopping for a special reason tonight!

If you are coming from Susan's blog - then you are on the right track, if you are starting here, keep hopping and you will make a complete circle.

Close To My Heart is releasing a sneak peek at a new product that is coming out in February and giving it a special send off starting December 19!  With a qualifying order of $25 from the Autumn/Winter Catalog, you can get this great stamp set and these awesome blocks for only $15!!! That's a savings of $30!!!

Here is the stamp set - it's a sheet 8 x 11 inches big!
Keep hopping to see what we consultants created with our blocks.

Here is mine:

Here is the blocks in the tray (3 are out of the tray)
I took Chocolate Ink and sponged the edges to give it a dirty, softer look.
Above is the before and after squares.
Here is all of them done!
First I covered the 2 inch blocks with Roxie Background and Texture paper.
I then put a 4 x 6 photo on top after cutting them into 2 inch squares.
4 x 6 is perfect size pictures for this project!
Here is another side - the Fun, the flower & it's center
are from the stamp set that comes with.
another side - the stamps here are also from the stamp set.
 For a different look,
I put my last name, the year and used the LOVE stamp for one side.
Stacked or lay them down across a shelf! 9 letter words work great or combine like I did.
(sorry about the crazy stuff in the background - trying to get all sides photographed.
Here is another side - there is 6 sides to dress up.
My last side I used the plaid paper from the Roxie Level 2 Paper Kit and left it empty for a future picture.
I dressed up the tray by sponging it and running the leopard print B&T paper on the edge and covered that with Chocolate ribbon.

You can purchase this on my site by clicking here: Mary Eisen's Web.
